THE WORLD OF DIGITAL DESKTOP COLOR GRADING

Color Grading once used to be thought of as the simple process of correcting errors from shooting.  Now, more than ever, color grading is an essential part of the creative process.

While most people have a confident understanding of color on a basic level, the process of manipulating colors exposes many of the misunderstandings we are taught from early childhood.  For example, we are taught to think of colors as a static thing, such as that is a white car or that is a red door, but in grading we need to think of color as a dynamic and constantly variable thing.

Traditional color grading systems have evolved from the world of video engineering and film laboratories and while these are very effective, their processes and logic are driven primarily by the technical rather than the creative process.

The Grading Sweet has been designed to follow a different thought process…  the thought process of the film maker.  Easily controllable and repeatable variables with more power and freedom than some of the most costly traditional systems.

Color grading that sits conveniently right there your timeline, always part of the creative process when you need it.

I believe color grading should not be an afterthought but a central part of the process that begins with a script and storyboard and evolves through the camera.
